From the time Abimelech William Hainsworth started manufacturing woollen cloth in Yorkshire in 1783 and invested in local people, maintaining strong partnerships with customers and suppliers have been the cornerstones of the company's success.
Boasting an unparalleled heritage in the UK - the Woolsack used by nobility to swear allegiance to Queen Elizabeth 1st is covered in Hainsworth cloth for example - Hainsworth also create the cloth used for the royal guard. The company was the first to manufacture truly flame-retardant fabric, and to this day the mill creates the cloth that saves the lives of emergency service personnel across the globe.
The last of the UK's truly vertical mills, going so far as having its own private spring water on-site, the A.W Hainsworth mill is an incredible complex to visit, and even more daunting brand to represent.
